International Women’s Day…oh how I love you.
I wouldn’t necessarily think of myself as a feminist, (just because everyone else thinks it cool) but I must say that I am in awe of women on a daily basis.
International Women’s Day is a fabulous opportunity for us to look at women from around the world and admire our differences and diversity. Our strength and our flaws. Our love and our scorn. Teedra Moses has a whole album called Complex Simplicity. This sums us up perfectly. I have spent the best part of my life around women who are resilient and fabulous. I have learnt how to become a woman for watching other women and there is something so magical about looking at women wholly for who they are.
International Beauty
The world has become a global village due to the reach and use of the internet, beauty has changed. Beauty standards are different. Beauty is diverse. It means different things in different parts of the world.

Beauty looks different in different parts of the world but some things haven’t changed in my opinion. At a local level, how are we being responsible for our own personal beauty? Are we consciously teaching ourselves what it means to be our own kind of beautiful? Loving yourself is not just for international women’s day. This Purpose Fairy article that I read literally set my soul on fire and reminded me of all the goodness that I am. (Read it here)
Self dialogue is so important. I have certainly woken up to the fact that beauty isn’t in the eye of the beholder at all. The conscious effort that it takes to ensure that your beauty isn’t left to the opinions of others is a mindset that every woman should adopt.
Let’s Do It Differently Internationally
How different would the world be if we started with one change in ourselves? To be fearlessly women. The shift in power would be phenomenal. What if we decided to own our ugly? It would be very difficult for any thing or anyone to use it as a point of hurt. We’re still in the first quarter of the year. There are 3 more quarters to do it differently this year. What will you do differently?
International Women’s Day has me I’m in a philosophical kind of mood today so I wanted to leave you with this…
Appreciating women is the order of the day today. Let’s make that a daily do. Do it daily and do it true!
Happy International Women’s Day
Until our next gorgeous adventure,

Great post! No fluff, straight to the point and so fact-filled it’s hard to comment without repeating the point you’ve already made.
Good stuff!
